Tom Wallis began his career in tree surgery
as a forestry volunteer for The National Trust at Dyrham
Park. Tom's training with the Trust enabled him to gain
a City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 certificate in Forestry.
Following a period of training with a tree surgeon,
Tom spent a year at Cannington College, where he gained
a National Certificate in Arboriculture and his National
Proficiency Test Council Certificates (NPTCs), the internationally-recognised
standards regarding chainsaw use on the ground (felling)
or from a rope and harness (tree surgery) and also for
aerial rescue. He went on to work for a top tree surgery
company before setting up The Tree Surgery in 1999.
